Casa Frank is a thoughtfully designed residential project nestled just meters from the Pacific coastline in Venao, Pedasí, an emerging beach community experiencing significant growth in tourism.

The residence is set on a gently sloping site enriched by mature shade trees, creating a serene natural environment. Positioned to the west, the property borders a national road, posing the challenge of mitigating noise from passing trucks. The architectural response was to orient the house towards the southeast, embracing the landscape, while closing off the northwest side to maintain tranquility.

The main house is defined by a two-story structure where strategic level changes articulate the hierarchy and function of the spaces. The social areas, which serve as the project’s focal point, are designed to foster connection and enjoyment among family and friends. The architecture is characterized by its clean lines and the use of fundamental materials like concrete and wood, which together ensure both the functionality of the space and the longevity of the structure.

Custom-designed concrete furniture is integrated throughout, providing durable, low-maintenance elements that complement and elevate the interior architecture.

Casa Margarita

This residence features a traditional spanish architectural style, with it's classic clay tile roof that exudes timeless elegance and complements the tropical surroundings. A screened-in terrace seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living, allowing for comfortable relaxation while enjoying the lush landscape.

The wood tongue-and-groove ceilings add a warm, rustic charm that enhances the overall cozy ambiance of the home. Surrounded by the tranquility of its tropical environment, Casa Margarita offers a peaceful retreat, balancing the charm of traditional design with the relaxed atmosphere of coastal living.

Casa W is nestled in the mountains of Playa Venao, Pedasí, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and the presence of howler monkeys, offering a serene and immersive natural environment.

This residence is thoughtfully designed to capture the best views of the eastern coastline of Playa Venao, paying homage to tropical modern architecture. Expansive overhangs extend toward the social areas, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces and inviting the landscape into the heart of the home.

Vista del Mar is a single-family residence located on the Pacific coast of Pedasí, Los Santos. Perched atop a hill in a quaint coastal village, the home offers exceptional eastern views of the sea. The design is inspired by traditional concepts that emphasize visual connectivity between the central interior space and the water element, resulting in an uninterrupted water reflection extending toward the horizon.

The residence features a hipped roof with a tropical wood structure, finished externally with traditional clay tiles. Mountain almond wood is used for the interior ceiling, adding warmth and elegance to the living spaces.

In the interior, carefully curated design elements contribute to the overall atmosphere of tranquility and sophistication. Thoughtfully selected furniture pieces balance comfort with elegance, while rich textures and art pieces add layers of depth and character to the space. The spaciousness of the interior is further enhanced by the strategic placement of art and design elements, which together create a harmonious environment that seamlessly blends the architectural vision with the natural beauty of the surroundings.

This project is situated on an enviable geographic point along the Pacific coast of the fishing village El Ciruelo in Pedasí, Los Santos.

The design merges traditional architectural concepts with a contemporary twist, featuring a central hexagonal module that serves as the social hub, connecting seamlessly with two lateral "wings" that house the bedrooms. Every space in the home is characterized by uninterrupted views of the sea, enhancing the sense of connection to the natural surroundings.

A standout feature of this project is the roof structure made of mountain almond wood, complemented by natural clay finishes on the ceiling and flooring, which impart a special warmth to the interiors.

The organically designed saltwater pool, incorporating elements from the surrounding vegetation, serves as the focal point of the social area. It creates a harmonious connection with the surrounding greenery and the expansive ocean views.

Casa Beland is a two-story mountain residence in Playa Venao, designed to act as a functional lens for its surroundings. Positioned strategically on a steep incline, the architecture frames the daily migration of the forest canopy and the seasonal arrival of humpback whales in the cove below.

The heart of the home is defined by a wide-open social area, where we prioritized "square meter efficiency." By focusing on smart distribution and a reduced construction footprint, we created spaces that feel expansive and light-filled while respecting a strict budget.

The interiors feature bespoke built-in furniture designed by our team and handcrafted by local artisans, utilizing a palette of organic textures and regional woods that allow the home to age gracefully within the tropical climate.

The landscape was approached as a form of natural engineering. We stabilized the mountain’s slopes using rock harvested directly from the property’s river and introduced a "harvest path" of fruit trees and Vetiver for erosion control.

Integrating a fully off-grid solar system and bioclimatic design, Casa Beland achieves a natural cooling effect through cross-breezes, ensuring that the house functions in total harmony with its environment.
